This Acceptable Use Policy (this "Policy") explains what you may not post or do when you use the GreekFunder website and platform (the "Services"). It applies to every User and to all material you create, upload, submit, display, or transmit through the Services — including fundraiser and event descriptions, cover and team images, merchandise photos, photo-contest submissions, captions, and attendee names ("Content"). This Policy is part of, and incorporated into, our Terms of Service. Capitalized terms used but not defined here have the meaning given in the Terms.
In this Policy, "GreekFunder," "we," "us," and "our" refer to GreekFunder, a sole proprietorship, the operator of greekfunder.com, and its successors and assigns. A "Chapter" is a Greek-letter organization with a GreekFunder account; a "User" is anyone with a GreekFunder account; a "Donor" is anyone who makes a payment through the Services.
1. Your responsibility for your Content and conduct
You are solely responsible for the Content you provide and for how you use the Services. By posting Content, you confirm that you have the right to post it, that every identifiable person in it has consented to your posting it, and that it complies with this Policy. Do not use the Services to post prohibited Content or to engage in prohibited conduct, and do not help or encourage anyone else to do so.
2. Child sexual abuse material — zero tolerance
Child sexual abuse material, and any sexual or sexualized Content involving a minor, is strictly prohibited and will never be permitted for any reason. When we become aware of apparent child sexual abuse material on the Services, we report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) as required by law, and we may preserve the material and related account information as the law requires. Accounts involved in this conduct are terminated.
3. Content you may not post
You may not post, upload, or share Content that:
- is nude, sexually explicit, or pornographic;
- harasses, bullies, threatens, or intimidates a person, or that publishes another person's private or identifying information without permission (doxxing);
- attacks, demeans, or vilifies people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, or another protected characteristic;
- depicts, promotes, or glorifies hazing, dangerous or degrading initiation, or coerced conduct;
- depicts, promotes, or facilitates illegal activity, including underage drinking and illegal drug use;
- depicts, promotes, or facilitates any other unlawful, violent, or dangerous act;
- infringes anyone's copyright, trademark, publicity, privacy, or other rights, or that you do not own or have the necessary rights to post; or
- features an identifiable person who has not consented to being included and to your posting the Content.
4. Conduct that is prohibited
You may not use the Services to:
- impersonate any person, Chapter, or organization, or misrepresent your identity or your affiliation with anyone;
- send spam, chain messages, or unsolicited or repetitive promotions, or advertise products or services unrelated to a legitimate fundraiser;
- upload or transmit malware, viruses, or any other harmful or disruptive code;
- attempt to gain unauthorized access to, probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Services or any related system or network, or otherwise circumvent our security, authentication, rate limits, or access controls;
- use bots, scrapers, crawlers, or other automated means to access the Services or to collect, harvest, or copy Content or personal data; or
- overload, disrupt, or interfere with the Services or with any other User's use of them.
5. Honest fundraisers
You must describe every fundraiser, event, and item honestly. You may not misrepresent a fundraiser, its organizer, its purpose, or how funds will be used, and you may not create a fundraiser you are not authorized to run. Chapters raise funds for their own organizational purposes. GreekFunder is not a party to the relationship between a Donor and a Chapter, does not guarantee any Chapter, fundraiser, or use of funds, and makes no representation that any payment is tax-deductible.
6. Content-safety tools and moderation
We use content-safety tools to help us detect certain unsafe images, including an automated screen that runs on our own systems and, for images it flags, a further check using a third-party content-safety service. These tools are not facial recognition, and they do not identify individuals. They are a safeguard, not a guarantee: they may not detect all prohibited Content, and we do not promise to screen, verify, or monitor Content, Users, or Chapters. We may, but are not obligated to, review, monitor, remove, refuse, or disable access to any Content, at our sole discretion, with or without notice. You should not rely on the Services for the safety, accuracy, or legality of any Content.
7. Enforcement, strikes, and termination
If we believe that Content or conduct violates this Policy or our Terms, we may take any action we consider appropriate, including removing or disabling the Content, limiting features, recording a strike against the account, and suspending or terminating the account — with or without notice, at our sole discretion. Repeated or serious violations may lead to termination. We terminate the accounts of repeat copyright infringers in appropriate circumstances, as described in our Copyright / DMCA Policy.
8. How to report a violation
To report Content or conduct that you believe violates this Policy — including a photo of you that was posted without your consent — email us at [email protected] with enough detail to locate the Content. To report copyright infringement, please follow the process in our Copyright / DMCA Policy and contact our designated agent at [email protected].
9. Relationship to our Terms
This Policy supplements and is part of our Terms of Service, and a violation of this Policy is a violation of the Terms. If there is a conflict between this Policy and the Terms on a matter this Policy addresses specifically, this Policy governs that matter; otherwise the Terms control. We may update this Policy from time to time; material changes take effect after notice as described in the Terms, and your continued use of the Services after a change means you accept the updated Policy.
